Mangroves are trees that grow in saline coastal sediment habitat. They usually occupy about three-quarters of tropical coastlines. The higher the mangrove tree, the larger its effect on helping the environment, animals, and people.

This year is a new year for Condura and a chance to help save the mangrove forests in the different parts of the Philippines. The Condura Skyway Marathon 2013 to be held at the Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa on February 3. Register and automatically you get to donate three mangrove plants for the reforestation of the Mangroves in Zamboanga de Sibugay in partnership with Philippine Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation (PTFCF).

Race categories are 42K, 21K, 10K, 6K, and 3.8K and the race packets include a race bib, dry technical shirt which says “I RAN FOR THE MANGROVES”, and a race guide (which includes the route maps for the different race categories and some important reminders).

Free registration to any race category is also offered to those who are buying a pair of ASICS running shoes. At the end of the race, all participants will receive a finisher’s medal. Full marathoners will get a finisher’s shirt with “I CONQUERED THE SKYWAY” printed on it.
