If you could un-invent something, what would it be? Discuss why, potential repercussions, or a possible alternative.
Yes, you heard me. If I could, I would un-invent money. As we all know, money has been making our lives turn around, making our world fully dependent on it. With this piece of metal or paper, we are able to buy our wants and needs, and sustain our own lives. But money has been identified as “the root of all evil” for a reason. Crimes are being committed because of this prime object. Some people get obsessed in getting much of this and it’s never enough for them causing harm to other people.
Without money, there will be no ranking of who is the richest or the poorest of all. There would be an essence of equality. It would not be even about the object of exchange anymore, but it would be more about the “why?”. People have a tendency to buy things that are not even necessary just because they have more or extra money at that instance. Without money, the value of a material would be worth more.
I would prefer the old-time practice of trading as an alternative. For the most, the expression “you reap what you sow” will play out fully and that hardwork is being recognized more. You just have to think of what would make you gain much in trading and start doing it.
