The daily dose of a Daily Prompt by the Daily Post.
Ever have an experience that felt surreal, as though you’d been suddenly transported into the twilight zone, where time seemed to warp, perhaps slowing down or speeding up? Tell us all about it. If you haven’t had an experience in real life that you can draw from, write a fictional account of a surreal experience.
Photographers, artists, poets: show us SURREAL.
They say, time flies while you’re having fun although in this case it flies and stops at the same time. As a post-graduation celebration my friends and I went to Boracay. Arriving in the morning and getting to see the beach for the first time was breathtaking. The clear blue water and white sand just makes you want to stay there forever. We spent three days and two nights which felt more like a week with all the activities that we had. The first day we had our hair braided then we went parasailing, take lots of pictures, buy souvenirs, eat seafood for dinner, go to a bar and chat over drinks and watch the fire dancers.
The next day, we went helmet diving, ride ATVs, gone to an amusement park, had dinner by the beach, gone to another bar and danced ’til midnight then went swimming after. The time we had was limited yet it seems that on every activity we’re always taking our time and enjoying everything while it lasts and now looking back, we did so much in just a few days. I never did expect that I’ll be celebrating my graduation with friends that way. I wanted it to be unforgettable and it was and I would not have it any other way. In a way, this experience was surreal for me because it was a breath of fresh air I mean after all the headaches and heartaches that college life has brought me I finally experienced being free in some way.
